We wish to accomplish three major actions at this meeting:

  1. Physics and Education and Outreach workshops to further stimulate scientific collaboration and to better understand and establish the scientific road maps for these disciplines.
  2. Presentations of the Letters of Intent to the SDSTA and the workshop participants to begin the assessment of the scientific programs for Homestake.
  3. Continue discussions with the South Dakota Science and Technology Authority on the experimental infrastructure requirements for both the Early Implementation Program and the plans for the longer-term DUSEL.

The schedule, as of Feb. 2, for the workshops and Program Advisory Committee is available here (.pdf).

The outline is:

9 February - Physics and Education and Outreach Workshops.

The workshops presents proponents of the Letters of Interest and other members of the scientific community to present results, discuss plans, road maps and R&D activities, and to continue the process of accumulating facility and infrastructure requirements. If you plan on making a presentation during the workshop please inform the coordinators listed below.

10, 11 February - Presentation of the Homestake Infrastructure and Presentation of the Letters of Interest.

Proponents for Letters of Interest will be requested to make short presentations to the Scientific Program Advisory Panel (PAC). These presentations should address the 5 criteria listed in the Call for LOIs. The LOIs are available at: (http://neutrino.lbl.gov/Homestake/LOI/HomestakeLOI.pdf). The membership of the PAC is posted here.

Due to the volume of LOIs received, we may request that very similar LOIs (e.g. similar or identical scientific objectives, goals, and techniques) consolidate their presentations into a single presentation.
